Our Founder, Andy Miller
Over the last 8 years Andy Miller worked in a range of roles for Narwah (the Operator of the Nuclear Power Project in the UAE, known as Barakah); a UK nuclear power developer; Highways England; and on his own Wildlife Photography venture.
Starting in 2013 before Nawah existed - Andy helped leadership and their team create the plan and schedule for the creation of the future operator, taking over the operation and maintenance of the 4 Units being constructed and bring each unit through receipt of their operating licenses, fuel load, start-up, power ascension testing into steady operation. Andy work in 2013/4 included the creation of a project management office, governance arrangements and initial program plan. His role then migrated to an operational readiness control centre which on a daily basis drove performance, resolved issues and provided help where needed.
Ultimately as Nawah's planning manager, Andy was privilege to witness Unit 1 connect to the grid and export power in July 2020; having advised and assisted CEOs, CNOs, Finance Director, Site Vice Presidents and all their directors and staff. Andy provided the framework for planning, scheduling and monitoring performance on a real time basis. 2020 was the year within which the most visible success was achieved - all on time or early - ultimately with Unit 1 selling power it generated to the UAE grid.
PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC)
After 5 years in the Oil & Gas Sector and securing an MBA, Andy joined a predecessor to PwC in 1988.
Andy was one of the early members of PwC’s UK based capital project’s, property, PwC’s project finance groups and PwC’s Broker Dealer in the USA (PwC Securities LLC) and was a senior programme director in PwC's Middle Eastern firms. He has worked globally and led 4 of PwC’s largest programme delivery roles in the Middle East and the UK prior to retiring from PwC in 2015.
Andy provides a “refreshingly direct” form of advice and assistance to CEO's and senior officers with peer-to-peer coaching and assistance to senior leaders and their teams who are striving to achieve a step change in their performance.
Andy brings a strong financial, commercial and operational management lens to the projects he advises on – often working alongside both technical specialists and the most senior levels of management. Andy has played a wide range of lead advisory and assurance roles across the capital project lifecycle and in helping set-up and turnaround program delivery organisations and in assisting clients to resolve disputes and other severe performance and leadership issues.
Andy has led a range of highly complex capital programme and project assurance reviews and has completed project assurance for stakeholders and due diligence reports for boards and funders. His reviews have been noted for how well the recommendations are, prioritised for urgency of implementation, address the issues, candid and practical, and based on best appropriate world-wide practice.
Andy holds a BSc (Hons), MEng and an MBA and is a member of PMI and the UK Project Management Association. Andy has been both an award-winning chartered engineer and a certified member of the US NASD and a broker dealer (investment bank), both of these lapsed as Andy moved away from these areas of work.

After over 27 years with PwC, Andy set up his own independent firm AM Project Advisors Ltd (AMPAL) to enable him to provide hands on advice, assistance and assurance services to his current and future pals on a far more affordable and flexible basis than when he was as an employee of one of the big 4.
At AMPAL, we play any role necessary that we can to help our clients achieve their objectives. Often this involves building a new capability for them and helping them employ our successors.
